How this site makes money

NonToxic.com is free to read and accepts no payment from brands for ratings, placement, or removal. The site is funded by affiliate commissions, and this page explains exactly how that works.

Affiliate links

Some "Where to buy" links are affiliate links (currently Amazon Associates). If you buy through one, the retailer pays us a small commission at no cost to you. In line with FTC guidance (16 CFR Part 255), every page with such links says so.

The rule that keeps ratings honest

Purchase links appear only on products our scoring rates as lower or moderate concern. We never earn a commission on a product we flag. Products are ordered on every page by score alone; there is no paid placement, and the scoring code is deterministic — the same evidence always produces the same score.

Display advertising

The site currently runs no display ads. If that changes, ads will be labeled and this page updated first.

What we never do

• Accept payment for a rating, a ranking, or removal of a record.
• Let a brand preview or veto a score.
• Link commissions to score changes in any direction.
