It begins with an amazing 0.35 micron pre-filter for the finest filtration and crystal clear water (a human hair is about 100 - 200 micron). Next, the water passes through NSF Certified KDF media, a combination of two dissimilar alloys, to remove chlorine over 99%, as well as filter heavy metals like lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals, and extends the life of the carbon stage. KDF also provides a bacteriastatic environment. Most other whole house systems use only carbon. Carbon is a must in water filtration, however, it can be a breeding ground for bacteria over time. KDF inhibits bacteria growth and can increase carbon life as much as 300%. Pyrolox is a high purity, high capacity filtration media for hydrogen sulfide (sulfur), iron and manganese reduction. Garnet will filter sediments and oxidized iron down to the 20-30 micron range. Pyrolox works on the principal of a catalyst reaction, but itself remains unchanged.
