Latex is derived from natural rubber and should be distinguished from synthetic latex, derived from petrochemicals. The talalay blend uses accelerators to make it comfortable .

There is a version of the 7 zone made by Royal Pedic from 100 % natural rubber -organic version (same as the organic blend) using 100 % rubber -usually much firmer . All rubber latex mattresses with a high percentage of rubber are called 100% natural latex.
